We rescue, love and care for orphans and impoverished children in Haiti, meeting their physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs so they are empowered to become leaders in their communities and their nation.

Our Vision

The vision of Danita’s Children is to provide education, nutrition, medical and dental care, and love to the children and families we serve. We believe through our teachers, mentors, and house parents we are raising children to discover their purpose and to become the future leaders of Haiti.

Danita’s Children is a family of faithful believers that follow the call to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We believe that each child has a hope and a future and together we are changing Haiti one child at a time.

Our Work at Danita’s Children

Danita’s Children serves hundreds of children and their families by providing:

• A Christian education that gives vulnerable children the opportunity to rise out of poverty
• An advanced education program to 62 graduates
• Healthy food through school meals and a community feeding program
• Pediatric medical and dental care
• Hope in Christ through the community church and discipleship program
• A safe and loving home to almost 70 children
• Quality care in a home for 14 children with special needs
• Employment of over 120 Haitian staff
• Sustainability through farming and agriculture 

Where We Work

Danita’s Children is located in the northeast region of Haiti in the village of Ouanaminthe, near the border of the Dominican Republic. Our stateside office is in Franklin, Tennessee.

Despite the hardships and natural disasters that have plagued this country, Haitian people exude a spirit of resilience. While their spirit is strong, the need is great. Around 80% of the country lives on less than $2 a day (npr.org).

Our Leadership

Danita's Children is guided by a board of directors based in the United States. They work with our founder and CEO Danita Estrella-Watts to ensure that we effectively bring the hope of Christ to Haiti.
