Dear Friends,
As we approach the Christmas season, I want to say thank you for your support and prayers. As I write you today, Haiti is facing an urgent health care crisis. Access to medical care is limited across the country, especially in rural areas where it’s virtually nonexistent. Exacerbated by the country’s instability and constant border closings, more than 3 million children in Haiti need humanitarian support right now.
In the face of this overwhelming need, the Danita’s Children Medical Center remains committed to providing critical care to the sick.
Every year, more than 8,000 children visit our Medical Center —the only hospital of its kind within a
three-hour radius.
But we could not continue this work without you. Your generous support allows us to meet the needs of as many children as possible.
Children like baby Fonrose. Born at just 28 weeks, his family
rushed him to our Medical Center. He was admitted to the
neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) weighing 3.4 pounds.
Our medical staff provided the urgent care he needed —
oxygen, a blood transfusion and a feeding tube. After a month
of treatment, his condition has improved greatly. His breathing
is stable, he’s no longer anemic, and he’s even began
breastfeeding. His mother, overwhelmed with gratitude, now
feels hopeful for her son’s future!
Right now, we need $560,000 to fully fund our medical programs in 2024. That’s $70 per child! A gift of $1,000, $500 or even $100 today will help keep our medical programs running.
Your gift in December will ensure we can provide access to life-saving medical care every single day in 2024 in our Medical Center. Below is a list of all the program areas your gift will support in 2024.
