Offering surgeries at our hospital is essential because of children like Alexandre. He was born with a cleft lip. His parents knew he needed to have repair surgery and they searched to find the care he needed. After searching for THREE years and finding no help, they were hopeless, until they heard about our hospital at Danita’s Children.

His devoted parents risked everything to travel from their home near the capital city, Port-au-Prince, to our hospital in Ouanaminthe. This is a risky and dangerous drive, especially with the current unrest across the country. They knew it was his only hope and committed to getting their son the life-changing operation he needed. On March 18, 2022, Alexandre received his surgery, and his life was forever changed. This blessing for Alexandre and his family is a blessing for us as well, and it’s not an uncommon story!

Right now, we have a waiting list of more than 51 children, just like Alexandre, who are in desperate need of surgery and the list will continue to grow. Some of these surgeries are life-threatening and need immediate attention. Our goal is to meet this need, and with your generosity this dream is possible!
