Meet Dieula

Danitas Children • Nov 25, 2019

Before she was the age of three, Dieula’s mother was sick and passed away suddenly.

Her father was elderly and struggled to take care of Dieula. He initially placed her in the home of some family and friends but was concerned that Dieula was not being properly care. He approached Danita’s Children and asked if we could take Dieula into our home.

Dieula’s Father passed away two weeks after Dieula came to live with us.

Over the years and in the care of our Danita’s Children family, we have seen Dieula become a shooting star. When God entrusts us with His children, our prayer is that they would deeply know their Heavenly Father and inherit the unique ways He has purposed them for. Dieula has done just that.

This year, at the age of 18, she demonstrates what true leadership is. Once a young child that came to us at the age of three, is now a young, confident woman who leads devotionals on Wednesday nights and teaches Sunday School classes for her younger peers. As she looks ahead to what is next for her life, one thing we do know is:

She will walk confidently in the way of the Lord (Proverbs 3:23).

It is because of the support and faithfulness of sponsors that each child has the opportunity to thrive like Dieula. Please click the link below if you are interested in sponsoring a child today for $35/month.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Danita's Children Medical Center is saving lives! Will you partner with us? The expansion of our NICU opened earlier this year and is already making an impact in the community we serve in Haiti. Families are able to access the specialized care their critically ill infants need to survive. I wanted to share the story of baby Fonrose, one of the very first patients admitted into our NICU.

On Friday, June 3, the team was able to operate on three children, all who needed hernia repair. One patient had two hernias and the team was able to do surgery on both at the same time.

Jules’ mother came to our hospital back in October 2021 when she noticed that her son may have a hernia. She was able to have a consultation with our doctor and found out that he did need to have surgery to repair the hernia.
