Everyone has a champion… Meet our Child Champions!

Meet our Child Champions!

Claire (10 years old).
Will (7 years old).

Seven-year-old Will has been a child champion since he was just  FIVE  years old.
He started asking for donations in lieu of birthday gifts since 2015! Will has graciously served this ministry well by coming up with many ideas where all proceeds go to Danita’s Children.

Another child champion, Claire, visited Haiti for the first time in February of this year. When she got back home, she decided on her 10th birthday to celebrate by asking for donations to Danita’s Children in lieu of gifts! Check out this video to hear a bit of their stories!

These two children are proof that you do not have to wait until you are older to make a difference.

Our tagline at Danita’s Children has always been,
“Changing Haiti, one child at a time…”

With such dynamic Child Champions now we can also say,
“We’re changing Haiti,  WITH  one child at a time…”

If your child or grandchild might be interested in becoming a Child Champion, please visit our  Get Involved   page on our website for more information!

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Danita's Children Medical Center is saving lives! Will you partner with us? The expansion of our NICU opened earlier this year and is already making an impact in the community we serve in Haiti. Families are able to access the specialized care their critically ill infants need to survive. I wanted to share the story of baby Fonrose, one of the very first patients admitted into our NICU.

On Friday, June 3, the team was able to operate on three children, all who needed hernia repair. One patient had two hernias and the team was able to do surgery on both at the same time.

Jules’ mother came to our hospital back in October 2021 when she noticed that her son may have a hernia. She was able to have a consultation with our doctor and found out that he did need to have surgery to repair the hernia.
